Driven by the desire to share the beauty of the Vietnamese language and traditions with an international audience, the members of the Toucher Arts project chose the familiar story of Tet holiday, “The Legend of Vietnamese Sticky Rice Cakes”, revisited in the form of a puppet theater, making hundreds of participating audiences extremely excited in a bilingual Vietnamese – French storytelling session at the Tissé Métisse library in downtown Nantes on June 19, and in Languidic during the Festival Vietnam 2024.

The entire script, translation, staging and drawing of the puppet stage, character control, storytelling, workshop instructions… were all completed by young Vietnamese teenagers of the Toucher Arts project from all over the world.

Animés par l’envie de partager la beauté de la langue et des traditions vietnamiennes avec un public international, les membres du projet Toucher Arts ont choisi l’histoire familière de la fête du Têt, « La Légende des gâteaux de riz gluants vietnamiens », revisitée sous la forme d’un théâtre de marionnettes, qui a enthousiasmé des centaines de publics participants lors d’une séance de conte bilingue vietnamien-français à la bibliothèque Tissé Métisse au centre-ville de Nantes le 19 juin et à Languidic dans le cadre du Festival Vietnam 2024.

L’intégralité du scénario, traduction, mise en scène et dessin de la scène de marionnettes, contrôle des personnages, narration, animation… ont toutes été complétées par de jeunes adolescents vietnamiens du projet Toucher Arts du monde entier.
